CO₂ Gas coolers

CO₂ gas coolers replace traditional condensers in systems using CO₂ as the only refrigerant, which are becoming more common. Hot, compressed CO₂ flows through coils and is cooled by ambient air, without changing phase. Liquefaction occurs later at the expansion valve. These coolers also operate at much higher pressures than standard air-cooled condensers.
